U14 Football

Aaron Kenny of St Rynaghs lifted the U14B championship cup on Saturday afternoon after beating Ballinamere-Durrow in the final in Tullamore.  A fantastic game of football by Rynaghs and led at half time by 3-8 to 1-2.  In the second half Rynaghs pushed on to win 5-16 to 1-4.  Darragh Tierney, Sean Hanany, Aaron Kenny and the Healy twins Denis and Dominic played great football and made some vital tackles to keep Rynaghs ahead.  Well done to all and the management team of Martin Hanamy, Tom Wynne and John Daly.  Team:  C Flynn, S Kilmartin, S Hogan, D Healy, S Hanamy, D Healy, P Devery, B Moylan, C Troy, T Corcoran, A Kenny, D Kelly, D Gaughan, D Tierney, S Daly.  Subs: P Donoghue, A Devery, O Hickey, C Sullivan, L Hein, o Foy, D Shea, E Houlihan, K Rignery, R Young.

Minor Football

St Rynaghs had to travel to Rhode on Sunday morning to play Rhode in the quarter final.  Conditions were terrible for the game with wind and rain that made it very difficult to play but both sides gave it their all.  Rhode playing with the wind in the first half opened the scoring with 3 points before Eoghan  Flynn found the net for St Rynaghs and by half time whistle Rhode lead by 1-3  to 1-0.  Second half Rynaghs found the net with a goal by Darren Healy.
Rynaghs were looking good with a point from Cillian Woods and a goal and a point from Evan Conroy but Rhode were not going to give up easy and in the last seconds of normal time Rhode found the net to leave it all level at the final whistle.  Extra time had to be played with Rhode playing with the wind only scored one point in the first half but in the second half Rhode came out and scored 2-3 to Rynaghs 1-0 scored by Graham Lynch to leave the final score 4-2 to 4-8 to Rhode.  Team: B Conneely, C Gleeson, M Byrne, A Moylan, R Butler, M Daly, D Langtry, J Daly, E Gannon, D Healy, G Lynch, D Flynn, M Dolan, E Conroy, E Flynn.  Subs: T Leonard, C Woods, N Higgins.  Thanks to the management team of Martin Conroy and Martin Houlihan for all their work.
