St Rynaghs opened their championship against St Broughans on Monday evening last.  St Rynaghs were missing some key players for this first round.  Broughans put Rynaghs under a lot of pressure in the first half scoring 1-4 before we registered our first point from a free, half time score Broughans 1-6 Rynaghs 0-1.  Rynaghs came out a lot more determined in the second half and started to win more ball all over the field.  Conor Kelly hitting over a point then Darren Healy putting over 2 points.  Evan Conroy putting over a free and with five minutes to go Evan Keane fisted the ball into the net.  St Rynaghs worked hard till the end just coming up short.  Final score St Rynaghs 1-5 St Broughans 1-9.  Team: B. Conneely, C. Woods 0-1, K. Fogarty, S. Healy, A. Daly, R. Buckley, M. McLoughlin, R. Hughes, E. Conroy 0-2, D. Devery, D. Healy 0-1, E. Flynn, C. Kelly 0-1, E. Keane 1-0, A. Canon.  Subs Used: G. Daly for A. Canon, J. Stevenson for D. Devery.

U14 Football

St Rynaghs footballers travelled to Birr for the first round of the championship.  St Rynaghs got off to a good start against Birr with a great goal from corner forward Sean Kilmartin.  Rynaghs settled in the match playing some good football.  Their passing and moving off the ball was excellent.  Our backs were very tight, mid-field winning good breaks and all our forwards getting on the score board.  Final score St Rynaghs 4-10 Birr 1-4.  This is a great result and a good start to the championship.   Our Under 14 footballers are in the league final also which will be played in the next week or so.  Well done lads and keep up the good work.  Team: C. Flynn, D. Healy, D. Healy, M. Harrington, P. Byrne, F. Hanamy, E. Flynn, D. Tierney 0-1, E. Corcoran 1-0, G. Daly 0-1, A. Kenny 1-2, D. Gaughan, S. Hanamy 0-1, E. Woods 1-3, S.
