St. Rynagh's Football Club Notes : 3rd September

U16 Football

St Rynaghs played Ballinamere/Durrow in Durrow on Monday evening.  This game was to be played at 7 but did not kick off until after 8 due to no referee.  A referee from Clara finally got things underway.  St Rynaghs got on the scoreboard with a quick point from Michael Dolan but Ballinamere/Durrow hit back with 2 goals and 2 points. Evan Conroy scored a point before Shane Healy burst through to hit the net for Rynaghs.  Eoghan Flynn kicked two points from frees before half time to leave the score at half time 3-4 to 1-4.  Rynaghs missing a few goal chances in the first half.  Second half Ballinamere/Durrow started better with a goal from the first few minutes but Rynaghs didn't give up, Darren Healy kicked a good point then Ciaran Fogarty kicked a goal.  Eoghan Flynn and Michael Dolan kicked two frees.  Ronan Butler and Darren Healy completed the scoring.  Final Score: Ballinamere/Durrow 6-7 Rynaghs 2-9.  Team: J Lucha, C Woods, A Daly, R Buckley, M McLoughlin, R Butler, S Healy, C Fogarty, J Daly, D Healy, E Keane, R Hughes, M Dolan, E Conroy, E Flynn.  Subs: J Murry for E Conroy, A Cannon for C Woods, C Kelly for R Hughes, D Devery for E Flynn.

Minor Football

St Rynaghs played Gracefield in Gracefield on Friday evening last.  Gracefield coming out on top on a scoreline of 2-20 to 1-4.  Team: E Conroy, E Gormon, M Byrne, D Langtry, M Daly, R butler, C Gleeson, J Daly, S Healy, A Wynne, D Flynn, D Healy, J Murry, E Flynn, A Moylan.  Subs: M Dolan for C Gleeson, D McIneaney for J Daly.

U14 Football

St Rynaghs played Der Gaels in Cloghan on Tuesday evening last.  St Rynaghs played with great passion and moved the ball well all through the field.  Some great moves from the full back line right through to the full forward line with great running and passing of the ball.  St Rynaghs led by 3-10 to 1-4 at half time.  In the second half Rynaghs didn't ease off banging home a further 5 goals to put the game out of sight.  Final score 8-15 to 4-6.  Well done lads, keep up the good work and also to the management team of Martin Hanamy, John Daly and Ton Wynne.  Team: C Flynn, S Daly, C Redmond, D Healy, E Flynn, F Hanamy, D Healy, E Corcoran, A Kenny, P Byrne, C Kelly, D Tierney, S Hanamy, E Woods, T Corcoran.  Subs: S Hogan for E Woods, M Harrington for F Hanamy, D Gaughan for D Tierney, S Kilmartin for T Corcoran, G Daly for A Kenny.

Offaly U16 B Camogie Final

Well done to the Offaly Girls Camogie on winning the All-Ireland final and especially to Grainne Dolan Ann Daly from the St Rynaghs Football Club.  Offaly beat Derry in the final.

U 14 Football

On Thursday evening St Rynaghs played Ballycumber/Tubber in Tubber.  St Rynaghs had a good win beating Ballycumber/Tubber on a scoreline 5-16 to 5-6, Well done lads.

U 16 Camogie

Offaly U16 Camogie were out on Sunday in the A Leinster final after winning the B All Ireland.  They played Kilkenny in Birr but were beated by just 2 points.  Final score 2-5 to 1-10.  Grainne Dolan and Ann Daly from St Rynaghs Football Club played on the Offaly Team.  Well done girls on getting so far in both competitions.
