St. Rynagh's Football Club Notes : 20th August

Cloghan 10K Run / 5K Walk 2012 on next Sunday 26th August @ 12pm. 

AAI Approved and Run by St. Rynaghs Football Club. Registration on the day from 10:30am at St. Rynaghs Football Club, Cloghan or online at €20 and Race goody bag & t-shirt to 1st 100 entrants. U12 Girls Football

St Rynaghs U12 girls football club represented Leinster in the community games finals in Athlone on Saturday last.  Cloghan, Banagher and Lusmagh joined forces fro the community games.  St Rynaghs played Turlock Powers from Mayo in the semi-final losing out by one point after a wrong score was put down by the referee.  St Rynaghs lodged an appeal but to no avail.  On Sunday St Rynaghs played Bundorn of Donegal for 3rd place winning out on a scoreline of 5-12 to 0-5.  Well done to all players and management team from St Rynaghs Football Club

Minor Football

St Rynaghs played Ferbane in Ferbane on Friday evening last.  St Rynaghs were short a number of players and this proved costly with Ferbane scoring 1-13 to 0-0 by half time and losing Jamie Guinan from midfield did not help the cause.  Second half Ferbane stated off where they finished putting on a final score of 3-28 to 0-2.  Rory Finnegan scoring from play and Andy Wynne from a free.  Team: e Conroy, E Gannon, S Healy, A Moylan, M Daly, C Daly, R Butler, J Daly, J Guinan, R Finnegan (0-1), D Moran, D FLynn, A Wynne (0-1), D McElhinney, D Healy.  Subs: G Murry for J Guinan, R Buckley for D McElhinney.

Junior Football

St Rynaghs played Pollagh in Pollagh on Tuesday evening last.  This was a knock out game and it proved it with both teams wanting to progress in the championship.  This was a great game with both teams tied at half time.  Kevin Lynch & Dean Flynn one each, Eunan Martin scoring two. Half time score 0-4 to 0-4.  Second half: Dean Flynn hit a point first before a great movement from centre field saw Noel Buckley fit the ball to the Pollagh net.  Eunan Martin kicked a point and then another from a free left 4 points.  Pollagh pulled one back before sub Tony Byrne came from the middle of the field to bang home a goal.  Pollagh lost a player through a red card and Eoin Grogan put over the free.  Tony Byrne stepped up again with a super point to finish off a great win for St Rynaghs to leave them in the quarter final.  final Score 2-9 to 0-11.  Team:  I Mahon, D Flynn, I Hanamy, P Grogan, D Loonam, D O'Connor, A Smith, S Horan, K Lynch, E Grogan, D Lynch, M Daly, D Flynn, N Buckley, E Martin.  Subs: T Byrne for S Horan, A Clancy for P Grogan, P Dlay for D Lynch.

U16 Football

St Rynaghs played Tubber in Cloghan on Monday evening.  St Rynaghs only scored 4 points in the first half with Darren Healy scoring 3 from play and Evan Conroy scoring one from a free with Tubber scoring 12 points in the first half.  Second half St Rynaghs tried harder with Darren Healy playing great up front scoring 1-1 and Evan Keane hitting over a point but it was Tubbers evening finishing with a score line of 2-17 to St Rynaghs 1-5.  Team:  J Lucha Perna, R Buckley, M McLoughlin, C Woods, A Daly, C Fogarty, S Healy, E Conroy, R Butler, D Healy, R Hughes, M Dolan, C Kelly, E Keane, E Flynn.  Subs:  D Devery for C Kelly, J Murry for E Flynn.

U16 Offaly Camogie

Congratulations to the U16 Offaly B Camogie players on winning the All Ireland final against Derry on Sunday last and to Grainne Dolan and Ann Daly who played with Offaly from all the St Rynaghs Football Club, well done to all.
