U14 Football

Congratulations to the U14 St Rynaghs Football team, what a week for this team of young men last Saturday. They were crowned U14 County Hurling Champions and just one week later to be crowned U14 Football County Champions. They travelled to Clara on Saturday morning to take on the well fancied Shamrocks team that beat St Rynagh's in the championship by 6 points but what a performance this football team put on, from Ciaran Flynn in goals to the full back line of Shane Daly that moved to the forward line and worked very well.  Conor Redmond and Dominic Healy strong in defence, half back line of Enda Flynn, Fergal Hanamy (Captain) and Paddy Byrne that let nothing go through. Midfield Denis Healy and Eamon Corcoran that chased and blocked everything in their path.  Half forward line of Darragh Tierney, Aaron Kenny and Caolan Kelly that ran at the defence at every opportunity and took some great scores.  Our full forward line of Sean Hanamy, Eoin Woods and Thomas Corcoran that was a heartache for the defence and to all the subs that are a vital part of this team.  A special word of thanks to the management team of Martin Hanamy, Tom Wynne and John Daly that worked so hard with this team to capture this victory.  There were great celebrations after the food and drinks which were sponsored by Spar and Adrian Clancy.  Also a special word of thanks to the parents and supporters who travelled to the game.  Scorers on the day; Darragh Tierney 0-3, Aaron Kenny 1-0, Caolan Kelly 0-1, Seán Hanamy 0-1, Eoin Woods 0-1, Thomas Corcoran 1-1 and Shane Daly 0-1. Final score 2-8 to 2-6
