St. Rynagh's Football Club Notes : 14th March

posted 14 Mar 2011, 09:39 by Unknown user   [ updated 2 Jan 2013, 04:40 ]
Our minor footballers were due to play Shamrocks in the minor league in Cloghan on Sunday last. The game was called off as Shamrocks could not field a team.

Our senior footballers are out in the division two league on St Patricks Day away to Daingean, throw-in is at 12 noon. With two games played, a win against Kilclonfert and a loss to Bracknagh it is vital to win as many games as possible. There has been a very poor turnout at training recently and with the senior football championship only months away the numbers will have to be increased in training. St Rynaghs have a tough group in the senior football championship this year Clara, Walsh Island, Gracefield, Ballycumber and Shamrocks, and it is the pride of any parish to have a good senior football team. It was a hard slog last year to win the intermediate football championship and an attitude change is in order from players to prevent heading straight back down to intermediate grade.

Our rescheduled buffet and medal presentation honouring the intermediate championship winning team of 2010 takes place on Friday night 25th March in the County Arms Hotel, Birr. Former Walsh Island and Offaly legend Matt Connor will present the medals on the night. Also former St. Rynaghs and Offaly hurler Michael Duignan will act as M.C. on the night. Music will be provided by Damien Bowe and the Klassics. There will be a disco afterwards with local man Martin Mulhare spinning the decks. The meal will be served at 8pm and tickets are priced at €20 each and can be purchased from any committee member. For a great nights entertainment the County Arms Friday 25th March is the place to be.

Club Membership for 2011 is as follows
