In July 2010, Zachary McCune and Colleen Brogan from USA spent a few days with us in Cloghan capturing footage of GAA games in our parish. They spoke to a lot of people in the parish and they visited the pitch in both Cloghan and Banagher and captured great footage. They were filming a documentary project called "Heritage at Play" which was about the role of Gaelic Games in Irish Society. St Rynaghs is featured alot in the production and there is also footage from Croke Park, Nemo Rangers, Kilmacud Crokes and St. Slyvester’s GAA Club in Malahide. It is a fantastic look at the GAA in Ireland and you can have a look at the video here. There is interviews from Stephen Finneran, Michael McIntyre, Garry Daly, PJ "Vander" Camon and Enda Mulhare with video footage of the underage boys and girls playing both hurling and football. Keep and eye out as well for other well known faces from around.
The website with all the footage including other videos of their time in Ireland is available on their website http://heritageatplay.org .....it's well worth checking out!! Well done Zach & Colleen and you're more than welcome to come back and visit us any time....best of luck with the premiere of their “Playing Irish” documentary this weekend in Newport Public Library , Rhode Island, USA.
