Breaking News : Rynaghs Legend called up to Ireland Shinty Squad

Ciaran "Sod" Daly has earned a late call-up to join Ireland's Shinty's squad in Scotland for this years crucial Composite rules shinty-hurling at Bught Park, Inverness, strynaghsfootballclub.ie can exclusively reveal.

The 37-year-old kit man was a key member of the Offaly Hurling squad in the the All Ireland Hurling Championship in 2011 and his crucial preparation of the gear for the Offaly squad was one of the reasons for his late inclusion.

“We are expecting Sod to be a great edition to the squad,” GAA President Criostóir Ó Cuana told strynaghsfootballclub.ie

Sod is currently in his third year as vice chairman of St Rynaghs Football Club is one of the most experienced kit man in the GAA having served in a variety of positions both at club and county level before assuming his current position as head kit man for this years composite rules series.

The first game in the series is in Athy on Saturday 22nd October @ 2pm with the game in Scotland. He will then leave the Tullamore Court on Thursday 27th October after Michael Duignan's Book launch to join the squad who will train at the Bught Park Stadium Inverness on Friday 28th.

The game is fixed for Saturday 29th October.
