West Offaly club's opportunity to have say on Championship and League Structures for 2014

posted 4 Nov 2013, 03:49 by Unknown user

The Executive Committee of Offaly GAA will tonight be meeting in Cloghan at 8pm sharp to discuss with clubs the items listed below. This is the third of four meeting around the county. Each meeting will be attended by as many County Board Officers as possible and by full-time Coaching and Games Staff.

It is important that club officers attend this meeting as well as those involved in Underage Games in your club. The Underage Programme of Games/Competition Structure is also up for discussion on the night and the focus of the Club Development input, on this occasion, is Coaching and Games.

This is your club's opportunity to have your say on the Championship and League Structures for 2014 - your views will be taken on board and a final draft proposal will be sent to clubs the week prior to the November County Board meeting, that has been rescheduled to November 19th to facilitate this consultation process.

 I.            General Introduction

II.           Club Development Presentation – Coaching and Games, Alan Mulhall

 III.           Fixtures/Championship Structure Review

IV.           Club Issues – Question and Answer

V.            Tea/Coffee

Hope to see as many from the club their as possible.

U21 Football

Shannongales (St Rynaghs, Shannonbridge and Lusmagh) played Clara in the U21 football quarter final on Saturday in Clara.  This was a close game with Clara leading at half time 1-4 to 0-4.  Shannongales started well in the second half with Alan Kellu moving to wing forward and Sean Dolan commanding centre field.  Shannongales scored 5 unanswered points to set up a nail biting finish and with four minutes to go Shannongales were two points up when Clara broke from centre field and worked a well taken goal to put them back in the lead.  Final score Clara 2-7 to 0-10.  Team: C Clancy, C Daly, P Camon, D Flynn, E Conroy, D Corbett, A Kelly, J O'Connor, A Camon, D Loonam, N Wynne, R Wynne, M Corbett, S Dolan, S Quirke.  Subs: S Lyons for D Loonam, E Gannon, D Flynn.
