Here is photos from the Cloghan 10K Run On Thursday night 16th June, St Rynaghs Football GAA Club launched the Cloghan 10K. “Walking and running is a fun way for people to get fit, and to stay fit, as part of a healthier lifestyle”. That was the message being conveyed by Olympian runner Pauline Curley who launched the Cloghan 10K on Thursday night last. Pauline is first Offaly woman and only the fifth Irish woman to complete an Olympic marathon. Pauline who comes from an amateur athletics background represented Ireland in the 2008 Beijing Olympics and St Rynaghs Football GAA Club was delighted to have Pauline to launch the Cloghan 10K. Last July Cloghan opened the Cloghan 1K which is a 1KM Slí na Sláinte Irish Heart Foundation route and this year we wanted to set people a challenge in the community to either walk, jog or run the 10K. The 10K run will be on the roads around Cloghan and all runners, jogger & walkers are welcome. It will be on Sunday 28th August 2011 @ 12pm with registration on the day from 10:30am at St. Rynaghs Football Club, Cloghan or online at www.strynaghsfootballclub.ie. Entry for the race online is €20 or on the day is €25. There is also a race goody bag & t-shirt for the first 200 entrants. In the build up to the run, Offaly Sports Partnership are arranging a 10 Week Training Program starting on Wednesday 22nd June @ 7:30. Training will be done each week by qualified trainers and the training will be on each Wednesday from 7:30 - 8:30 & Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 and all runners, jogger & walkers welcome.
